Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Access Control Technician to join our team. This role will support the installation and maintenance of access control systems, including the installation of low-voltage devices, cabling infrastructure, and basic hardware. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Cat6 cable installation and termination, basic conduit work, and is eager to grow in the physical security and low-voltage field.
Responsibilities:
Install access control components such as card readers, door strikes, and request-to-exit devices
Pull, label, and route Cat6 cable in commercial and industrial environments
Terminate Cat6 cables and test for continuity and performance
Assist with mounting and securing control panels and related devices
Work with EMT and other conduit types for cable routing
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Follow safety procedures and company guidelines
Collaborate with team members and take direction from senior technicians and project managers
Requirements:
0 2 years of experience in low-voltage or structured cabling
Familiarity with basic hand and power tools
Ability to read basic drawings and follow installation standards
Basic understanding of access control systems (preferred but not required)
Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in construction environments
Must be reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience with access control systems (e.g., HID, Lenel, Genetec, etc.)
Experience working with conduit (EMT, flex)
OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus
