Job Description

Description We are looking for an entry-level Accountant to join our team in Torrance, California. As part of a dynamic manufacturing organization, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to essential financial processes while honing your accounting skills. This is a Contract-to-long-term position ideal for someone eager to grow in a collaborative and detail-oriented environment. Responsibilities: - Process and reconcile accounts receivable (A/R) and accounts payable (A/P) transactions in a timely manner. - Conduct daily bank account reconciliations and prepare corresponding reports for submission to headquarters. - Manage debit and credit notes related to commissions and expenses with accuracy. - Ensure the integrity and accuracy of general ledger (GL) accounts through regular reconciliations. - Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure financial records are complete. - Handle refund requests, commission offsets, and physical deposits of checks and cash as required. - Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and insights. - Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting workflows. - Utilize ERP systems and accounting software to maintain organized financial records. - Provide backup support to the Accounting Manager when urgent issues arise. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. - 2-5 years of accounting experience, with expertise in A/R, A/P, and GL reconciliations. - Proficiency in accounting software systems and ERP solutions such as Dynamics NAV. - Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in financial processes. - Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment. - Excellent organizational and communication skills. - Familiarity with Avatax and Adobe Acrobat is advantageous. - Demonstrated ability to analyze accounts and perform complex accounting functions effectively.
