About Us:

Founded in 1968 to meet the post-secondary and continuing education needs of Cecil County residents, Cecil College has been serving the community and shaping its future for more than 50 years. The College is governed by a Board of Trustees appointed by the governor. The College’s fifth president, Dr. Mary Way Bolt, reports directly to the Board of Trustees.

Cecil College is centrally located in Maryland’s most northeastern county, just one half mile from Interstate 95. It is easily accessible from Philadelphia and Baltimore, as well as from Wilmington, Delaware.

With a diverse student population, Cecil College enrolls approximately 2,500 credit students and 3,400 non-credit students. Cecil offers associate degrees, certificate programs and non-credit classes. Cecil offers a variety of associate degree and certificate programs.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US, as the College does not offer Visa sponsorships.

General Duties:

Adjunct Instructor of Interpersonal Communication and Public Speaking needed. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting in-person, daytime classes in accordance with Cecil College-approved syllabi and the stipulations of the Department of English and Humanities, on our main campus or on a nearby high school campus.

Qualifications:

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Speech or a related discipline
• Successful college-level teaching experience
• LMS experience (e.g., Canvas)
• Availability for in-person, daytime teaching

Criteria for Consideration:

Only applicants who are authorized to work in the United States and who reside in Maryland or its contiguous states will be eligible for hire. Must be able to teach on-site

The Fiscal Year 2026 Credit Adjunct Scale is as follows: 2 semesters of less at Cecil ($830 a credit hour for individuals with less than a Masters+60 or $855 a credit hour for individuals Masters+60 or a Earned Doctorate); More than 2 semesters at Cecil ($855 a credit hour for individuals with less than a Masters+60 or $880 a credit hour for individuals Masters+60 or a Earned Doctorate).
