Job Title: Certified Medical Coder – Remote
Location: Bronx, NY
Duration: 3+ Month Contract (Extendable)
Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay Rate: $37/hr for 40 hours
Begins with 1–2 weeks of onsite training (manager is flexible).
Fully remote after training and once responsibilities are mastered.
Must have EPIC and 3M experience.
CCS or CPC certification required (both preferred).
Strong outpatient and emergency department (ED) coding background.
Should be able to work independently with minimal training.
Inpatient coding experience strongly preferred.
Perform medical coding in an acute care environment.
Use coding systems including ICD-9-CM , ICD-10 , CPT-4 , and encoder software.
Interpret and apply federal billing, payer, and coding guidelines.
Utilize computer applications such as MS Word and Excel.
Research and resolve coding-related issues.
Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes.
Use the 3M/HDS coding application .
Support coder training as needed.
Minimum 3 years of coding experience .
Proficiency in ICD-10 and strong understanding of coding regulations.
Ability to work in both inpatient and ED coding environments.
High School Diploma or GED required.
AHIMA credentials accepted: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CCP .
