Apply Today! **Job Summary and Qualifications** As an Electrocardiogram (EKG) Technician, you will be responsible for the performance of non-invasive cardiovascular procedures. You will work closely with other members of the healthcare team to provide exceptional patient care and efficient completion of diagnostic studies, while maintaining a clean, efficient, and safe work environment. + You will transport patients to and from the department to complete procedures + You will order, deliver, and retrieve equipment and supplies for the unit + You will identify life-threatening arrhythmias and/or rhythm change, and communicate them to the physician and/or Registered Nurse + You will perform the following Electrocardiogram (EKG) procedures: 12-18 lead EKG, Signal Average EKG, Pediatric EKG, and Rhythm Strip + You will be competent in holter application, removal, and scanning + You will perform multi-stage stress tests + You will assist physicians with the completion of exams and studies + You will collect, label, and deliver lab specimens + You will assist with maintenance of the patient log and schedule What qualifications you will need: + 1 year of experience as an EKG Technician Education + High school diploma or GED equivalent Licenses and Certifications + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy + Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date St. David's South Austin Medical Center ( , which is part of St. David's HealthCare.
