Job Description

Role Overview:

This role is ideal for someone driven by technical problem-solving and continuous improvement. You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving manufacturing and facilities equipment. In addition to hands-on technical work, you'll also manage small-scale projects and oversee contractors to ensure operational excellence and safety compliance.

  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs , as well as structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct mechanical and/or electrical maintenance and troubleshooting on manufacturing and facility equipment
  • Supervise upgrades and modifications to equipment to maintain optimal performance and appearance
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement corrective actions
  • Plan and execute small-scale projects related to equipment and facility improvements
  • Perform Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and enforce safety practices
  • Oversee equipment startup, calibration, and ongoing support
  • Coordinate and supervise contractors (e.g., plumbers, electricians) for facility and equipment installations
  • Lead Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEAs) for equipment upgrades or changes
  • Apply Root Cause Analysis techniques in troubleshooting and process improvement
  • Mentor and train maintenance technicians in technical troubleshooting and problem-solving

Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and commercial mechanical/electrical components
  • Ability to interpret technical documents such as P&IDs, blueprints, and schematics
  • Experience with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers)
  • Familiarity with Lean methodologies is a plus
  • Working knowledge of safety codes and engineering standards
  • Understanding of facility infrastructure systems (e.g., boilers, air compressors)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD (working proficiency preferred)
  • 3–5 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering OR
  • Entry-level candidates with a bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering (or equivalent experience)
