The Royal Caribbean Group’s Royal Caribbean International brand has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Financial Analyst reporting to the Senior Director of Business Planning & Analysis.

This position works on-site in Miami, Florida.

Position Summary:

This is a financial analyst position in Royal Caribbean Finance. The Analyst will support the shoreside and shipboard management teams in effectively managing their budgets, including supporting Casino financial services.

This person must coordinate with all levels of management to gather, analyze, and summarize relevant information to create budgets and forecasts.

The Analyst maintains continuous contact with operating groups and keeps current on business developments and data trends and incorporates any changes into the forecast. This position also serves as the primary contact for the Casino Marketing & Operations team, is responsible for evaluating and processing credit lines and proposing an appropriate amount for managerial approval based on research of credit worthiness.

Responsibilities also include processing wire transfers, being the primary contact for the collections process, overseeing the win/loss statement process, ensuring the end of sailing reconciliation of credit lines is performed accurately, and facilitating tracking and reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares monthly forecasts and annual budgets for specific expense accounts.
  • Analyzes month-end variances and submits explanations to accounting.
  • Prepares month-end journal entries, including re-classes, accruals and prepaid entries.
  • Develops and maintains monthly reports for operating teams and shipboard management teams.
  • Drives all processes related to the pre-cruise funding & post-cruise settlement of VIP casino guests.
  • Key contact for all guests, internal ops, and vendor communications for Casino line of credit application discrepancies, credit approvals, accounts receivables, wire transfers and collection efforts.
  • Evaluates all documentation for proposed credit lines and presents to Credit Committee for approval.
  • Develops and maintains a database for all credit and collection files.
  • Facilitates the year end process of W2G Win/Loss statement issuances and IRS 1099 forms, ensuring prompt execution and delivery of communication.
  • Adheres to KYC and AML requirements and operates in accordance with company core values, internal policies and procedures and applicable gaming regulations.
  • The budget for Hotel expenses is approximately $800M. The analyst would be responsible for anywhere from $200M - $400M.
  • The Analyst’s objective is to end the year within 2% of target.
  • Evaluates and proposes credit line approvals for up to $1M USD.
  • Maintains credit files data integrity to ensure accurate capture of casino player informations
  • Performs ad-hoc analysis and presentations as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required. 

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Two to four years of financial experience including a strong background in business/financial planning & analysis.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical and computer modeling skills.
  • Must be detail oriented to ensure accuracy in analysis.
  • Must possess organizational and time management skills with ability to quickly adjust priorities as new developments arise.
  • Ability to communicate in a highly effective manner with superior guest service skills.
  • Must have strong command of Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel.
  • Prior experience with Essbase and AS400 reservation system is a plus.
  • Must be able to work independently.
