As a Software Engineer II at JPMorganChase within the Commercial and Investment Bank line of business, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm’s state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.

Job Responsibilities

  • Participate in cross-Wholesale Bank initiatives and collaborative projects and cross-line-of-business knowledge sharing initiatives.
  • Proactively share successful UI processes and best practices within and among project teams.
  • Champion customer-centricity, usability, and consistency across online and communication channels.
  • Collaborate with business and technology partners to review market trends, business drivers, and strategies, ensuring the customer perspective is central to interface and technology decisions.
  • Design and build responsive web pages/sites following JPMorgan style guidelines, leveraging modern frameworks and best practices. Develop working prototypes to validate designs with stakeholders, gather business and technical feedback, and guide implementation.
  • Conceptualize and implement site layouts, navigation, images, icons, and multimedia elements, demonstrating a strong grasp of design principles and visual aesthetics. Assess and improve usability of interaction designs; collaborate with UI/UX designers to maximize the potential of front-end technologies.
  • Provide technical solutions to enhance online functionality using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React.
  • Support usability, QA, and UAT testing efforts to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Integrate and deploy applications on Amazon Cloud platforms, ensuring scalability and reliability.
  • Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automation
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience .
  • Experience in production and front-end development. Strong visual design sense and familiarity with branding guidelines. Familiarity with user/customer-centered design and development approaches.
  • Proficiency with graphics/web/multimedia applications, strong skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with React and modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Amazon Cloud services (e.g., AWS EC2, S3, Lambda).
  • Knowledge of database technologies including SQL
  • Self-managing with the ability to define tasks, manage workloads, and deliver on time.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills. Candidate will need to organize and run meetings as needed, discuss requirements, and demonstrate deliverables.
  • Ability to develop according to design guidelines and standards.
