Job Description

: Infosys Public Services is seeking a Health Information Technology (HIT) Consultant to join our Team. Position Description (scope of work or brief narrative): The Health Information Technology (HIT) Consultant is responsible for providing subject matter expertise regarding healthcare technology standards, along with an understanding of healthcare delivery processes. The HIT Consultant will help with the sales and delivery of healthcare projects. Required years of experience, training, technical skills, and other requirements for job performance:
  • Minimum 5+ Years of relevant work experience
  • 2+ years of experience in healthcare information exchange technologies
  • Proven experience and understanding of health information technologies
  • Proven ability to manage healthcare projects
  • Hands-on experience in health data mapping and transformation
  • Fundamental understanding of healthcare standards (FHIR, HL7, LOINC, ICD, CCD, CCA, HIPAA., etc.)
  • Understanding of the actors and processes of healthcare delivery (providers, patients, payors, government agencies)
  • Familiarity with health information exchange standards and technologies
  • Familiarity with leading electronic medical records and hospital information systems (Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Experience with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience in proposal writing and pursuit of leadership
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience working with State or Federal agencies
  • Experience with US regulations and privacy authorities, in particular HIPAA
  • HIT Certification(s) such as CPHIMS, RHIA, HL7, etc.
Educational Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent is required from an accredited institution. Will consider three years of progressive, relevant work experience instead of every year of education. Candidates who have completed a Master's degree program are strongly preferred.
The job entails sitting and working at a computer for extended periods. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email, or face-to-face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.
