Job Description

Our client currently require an Industrial Maintenance Technician to assist them in the safe troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of their equipment and facilities.

This work is within a heavy industrial facility involving high temperatures producing precision metal components, so we are very interested in hearing from candidates with a background in an industrial setting.

The work will be on 12 hour shifts on a schedule to be discussed. You will have the experience and ability to operate mobile industrial equipment.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Dismantle, clean, repair, adjust, install, assemble, and generally maintain all mechanical equipment to conform to safety and efficient operating conditions.
• Assemble and align gears, bearings, shafts, and other component parts involving the application of press, sliding and running fits.
• Set up and operate simple machine tools such as drill press, pipe threader, power saw, etc. for minor machining operations.
• Babbitt and scrape bearings as required.
• Replace belts, sprockets, chain drives, and other component parts.
• Connect, set up, and operate torch and welding equipment at all angles to weld joints, cut parts, build up surfaces, fabricate parts, etc.
• Maintain a safe, clean, work area.
• Notify proper authority of abnormal conditions, transporting tools and equipment to work areas, cleaning and properly storing tools, reporting need for supply orders, lubricating equipment, etc.
• Perform all tasks requested by the Supervisor and/or other management personnel.
• Although mainly mechanical equipment, there is likely to be some electrical troubleshooting, so we are especially keen to hear from candidates with some electrical exposure.
