Manage department quality performance by creating quality themes, monitoring progress, identifying gaps, and conducting root cause analysis and countermeasure activities for department and plant initiatives to ensure optimal product quality. Ensure daily Completed Body Unit adherence to specifications and regulations through Honda systems. Provide direction and manage the quality organization and operational structure to meet department and plant business objectives. Key Accountabilities Lead and Develop Assembly Quality Group: * Provide leadership and guidance to both on side and off side assembly quality memebers daily, setting direction and prioritzing mass production issues * Support team members in root cause analysis, countermeasure implementation, ideas and execution of engineered solution* Conduct performance reviews for all direct reports, offering contructive feedback to foster both growth and ensure accountabilityProblem Solve/Root Cause Analysis:* Advise on complex problem-solving by conducting analysis, investigations, report writing, and containment/repair activity using quality engineering principles* Oversee technical in-depth analysis of the production process to minimize customer concerns* Identify reoccurring problems and perform design problem analysis to develop effective solutionsQuality Business plan Activites: * Lead the assembly department quality team in business plans by executing situational analysis and theme development * Complete Monthly, Quarterly Check Act Plan-Do Scorecard roll-up, monitor progress and conduct gap analysis.* Support daily hinjuku department preparation and monitor progress based on previous day's results and gap analysis.Countermeasure Implementation:* Oversee new model drawings/parts to identify actual and potential problems, clarify and review with applicable departments, implement countermeasures to prevent issues during mass production* Coordinate and lead plant-wide countermeasure activities, recommend a permanent countermeasure based on investigation and analysis, which could include a design change, supplier part modifications, or an in-house adjustment* Oversee proposed countermeasures, evaluate their effectiveness once implemented, and manage change point controlNew Model activity related to Quality:* Oversee the development of Quality confirmation processes that adhere to Honda Quality Standards.* Monitor design activity with related departments, suppliers, and Research & Develeopment to confirm design verses actual manufacturing condition and that the design is acceptable based on past problem history* Provide technical support during tool trials and crisis activity as needed* Conduct feasibility studies on new technology, design concepts, and equipmentWarranty:* Receive warranty items back from the market and analyze to understand the failureQualifications, Experience, and Skills Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical, Technical Design) or equivalent experience8-10 years of relevant work experience based on educationStrong knowledge of white body construction and control systemAble to use Microsoft Office as well as other general office software tools.Ability to present to varying audiences, conduct meetings, multi-task and prioritize multiple projects and tasksAbility to foster and work in a team environment as well as independentlyMust have good interpersonal skills and familiarity with the new model procesAbility to execute studies as it relates to baseline and gap analysis as well as being able to develop and assign action items to achieve targetsAbility to teach and practice the Plan Do Check Act process.Working Conditions OT necessary to complete task deadline for monthly Scorecard & Business PlanTravel may be necessary for training & meeting with other facilitiesWhat differentiates Honda and makes us an employer of choice?
