Griffin Resources is recruiting on behalf of CertaPro Painters of Carrollwood and Tampa, located in Tampa, FL.

We are seeking a  Operational Bookkeeper  who can operate as a true full‑charge accounting partner. In this role, you will oversee all daily bookkeeping functions, manage job costing and AR/AP, handle payroll reconciliation, prepare monthly P&Ls, and work closely with our external accounting partner to ensure timely and accurate month‑end closes and year‑end adjustments. 

The ideal candidate is a detail‑driven accounting professional with strong QuickBooks Online experience, confidence working in painting, construction or service‑based environments, and the ability to improve processes, support strategic decision‑making, and ensure clean, accurate books. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Daily bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online 
• Oversight of AR, AP, and job costing with emphasis on accuracy and margin tracking 
• Weekly reconciliation of bank accounts and credit cards 
• Payroll reconciliation and commission support 
• Preparation of monthly P&L and financial statements 
• Collaboration with external accounting partner for month‑end close and year‑end adjustments 
• Coordination with CPA for tax readiness (tax filing experience is a plus, not required) 
• Development and refinement of processes, controls, and documentation 
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis 
• Provide financial insights to assist with strategic planning and decision‑making 
• Use of internal CRM (training provided) and integration with QuickBooks 
• Participation in periodic leadership meetings 

Qualifications: 

• 3–5 years of bookkeeping experience  
• Strong skills in QuickBooks Online required 
• Painting, construction, or service‑based industry experience preferred 
• Experience with job costing, AR/AP, and payroll reconciliation 
• Ability to prepare financial statements and support month‑end close 
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization 
• CPA not required; must possess strong practical accounting expertise 
• Spanish language skills are a plus
