Responsibilities
- Operate overhead cranes to move heavy materials safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate with team members to ensure smooth material movement.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on the crane.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Keep accurate records of crane operations and maintenance activities.
- Read and interpret technical documents, such as blueprints and schematics.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Ensure the work area is clean and free of hazards.
- Assist in loading and unloading materials as needed.
- Participate in safety training and drills.
- Report any safety concerns or incidents to management.
- Follow all operational procedures and guidelines.
- Monitor crane performance and report any issues.
- Ensure proper rigging and load-securing techniques are used.
- Assist in other tasks as assigned by supervisors.
- Inspect all rigging equipment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Overhead Crane Operator in a heavy machine job shop environment.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and company policies.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as blueprints and schematics.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
