Responsibilities

  • Operate overhead cranes to move heavy materials safely and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure smooth material movement.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on the crane.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Keep accurate records of crane operations and maintenance activities.
  • Read and interpret technical documents, such as blueprints and schematics.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
  • Ensure the work area is clean and free of hazards.
  • Assist in loading and unloading materials as needed.
  • Participate in safety training and drills.
  • Report any safety concerns or incidents to management.
  • Follow all operational procedures and guidelines.
  • Monitor crane performance and report any issues.
  • Ensure proper rigging and load-securing techniques are used.
  • Assist in other tasks as assigned by supervisors.
  • Inspect all rigging equipment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Overhead Crane Operator in a heavy machine job shop environment.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and company policies.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as blueprints and schematics.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
