The Fiscal Policy and Administration Unit at the Labor and Workforce Development Agency (LWDA) is actively looking to fill an Office Technician (Typing). Under the direction of the Labor and Workforce Development Agency's (LWDA) Staff Services Manager I, the Office Technician (OT) duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Accurately prepare, process and route various documents within LWDA and other organizations.
  • Keep physical and electronic records and follow the rules for how long to keep them.
  • Act as the main contact with the Employment Development Department's (EDD) Information Technology (IT) Branch.
  • Arrange and coordinate the purchase and maintenance of equipment and software.
  • Serve as the LWDA travel coordinator.
  • Execute purchase orders and reconcile invoices and other purchasing records.
  • Help with office logistics, such as buying supplies, furniture and managing office keys and access.
  • Draft, edit and finalize letters, memos, graphs, reports, and travel requests.
  • Process mail.
  • Answer phones, greet and direct visitors, and interact with LWDA staff, including executives and guests from outside of the agency.
The person in this role should be able to work independently, follow instructions provided in various formats, organize their workload, make good decisions, communicate effectively in different ways, and consistently show dependability.

Location: This position is located at the Labor and Workforce Development Agency headquarters within the Employment Development Department building at 800 Capitol Mall, Sacramento, CA 95814. The surrounding area includes the Capitol Building, various historic government offices, a surplus of restaurants, and the Golden One Center Downtown Commons.

Schedule: The duties of this position regularly take place between 8AM - 5PM. A hybrid telework schedule is an option, however, is at the discretion of the supervisor, operational needs, and guiding authorities.
